Supportive, pregnancy-safe treatment designed to ease tension, improve comfort, and help you gently unwind
Our Pregnancy Massage treatments are designed to support your comfort, mobility, and overall wellbeing throughout pregnancy. Each session is tailored to your stage of pregnancy and current symptoms, with a strong focus on safe positioning, appropriate pressure, and calm, supportive care.
Pregnancy massage is a specialised form of remedial and relaxation-focused treatment that considers the physical changes, postural demands, and comfort needs of pregnancy.
Your therapist will adapt your position, support, and pressure to ensure both safety and comfort, while working to ease muscular tension and general discomfort.
Unlike a standard relaxation massage, pregnancy massage includes pregnancy-specific positioning, bolstering, and clinical considerations to support you safely throughout your session.
Positioning is adjusted according to your stage of pregnancy and individual comfort. In early pregnancy, some clients may still feel comfortable lying face-down, and as your body changes, we transition to a supported side-lying position to protect your lower back, pelvis, and abdomen while allowing your therapist to work effectively.
We use dedicated pillows and bolsters to support your knees, hips, and abdomen so your body can fully relax. Proper support reduces strain on your lower back and pelvis and helps you stay comfortable for the duration of the session.
Your therapist will use pregnancy-appropriate techniques and adjust pressure based on your comfort and stage of pregnancy. Certain areas and techniques are modified or avoided to ensure complete safety for both you and your baby.
Pregnancy massage may help to:
As your posture changes and your centre of gravity shifts, your lower back can become tight and uncomfortable. Pregnancy massage can help ease muscular tension and support more comfortable movement.
Increased load and changes in walking patterns can place extra demand on the hips and pelvis. Gentle, targeted work can help reduce tightness and support better alignment and comfort.
Postural changes, sleep position, and daily activities can all contribute to neck and shoulder tension. Pregnancy-safe techniques can help ease this tightness and support better posture.
Pregnancy can be physically and emotionally demanding. A calm, supportive session can provide space to rest, unwind, and feel more settled in your body.
There are some situations where pregnancy massage may not be appropriate, or where medical clearance is recommended before treatment. If you have a high-risk pregnancy, significant swelling, unexplained pain, or any concerns raised by your doctor or midwife, please let us know before your appointment. If needed, we may recommend delaying treatment or seeking further medical advice to prioritise your safety.
Your pregnancy massage is provided by a qualified remedial therapist with additional training and experience in pregnancy-safe positioning and techniques. This means your therapist can adapt your session to your stage of pregnancy while also applying remedial principles to support comfort, mobility, and function.
Our remedial therapists work within a clinical framework, with a focus on safety, clear communication, and respectful, supportive care.
You are welcome to request lighter or deeper pressure at any time during your treatment. Your comfort is the priority, and pressure will always be adjusted to what feels safe and appropriate for you on the day of your session.
